Has anyone else had problems with their home legend bamboo click and lock engineered flooring?

Question: Has anyone else had problems with their home legend bamboo click and lock engineered flooring?

(Posted by: HLS on 2008-11-16 06:13:54)

My father recently installed the click and lock bamboo flooring in my living room/ dining room of my condo. I have only had the flooring for 3 months and there are significant scratches all over the floor. I am very careful to take my shoes off and not drag furniture or other things across the floor. I do have a small dog, but do not let him play or run on the bamboo floor. Last night I had some friends over and a few of the girls were wearing high heels with a smaller heel. There are now little circular indents all over my floor!!!!! I am very disappointed in this flooring. The box said it was "highly durable " which is why I got it. It was also recommended to me by a Home Depot flooring guy. Has anyone else had issues with their engineered bamboo flooring? If so, did you call the company to complain? What was the result? I really want to call the company and have them come out and assess the damages but I am not sure that they will really do anything about it. There is a 25 year LIMITED warranty on the flooring. Not sure how the company will play that to their advantage. Any feedback would help!

You will be disappointed if you call the company.A 120 pound woman in spike heels puts over a ton of pressure on the area of the heel. This is estimated by "pounds per square inch ". A spike heel has a small area and multiples the weigh in a high concentration. One of the parts of the limited warranty is what has been done.

Bamboo is basically a grass and is pretty soft stuff. I think the warrenties usually are limited to defects in manufacturing.. like if the flooring is warped or misshapen when you try to put it in. Why not look up the companies website and read the specifics of the warrenty. That way you are more informed before arguing with the company. You've got nothing to lose by calling the company. You might have more success complaining to home depot due to it being their recommendation. When I was picking out laminate flooring, I tried scratching it with my the metal edge of my tape measure. I picked a Shaw brand because it resisted any damage from that.
